Finally got into set my 1 cat side of the river baited cubby after hours of being stuck getting in there. It was a jungle on the creek with the wet snow sagging trees hanging low everywhere wet snow falling in everything. Wolf fang driver was damaged would not hold a fang so I did get only 1 trap set.

The only good part was the cubby was recently hit by a cat I had a cam on it if it’s not a big cat I’ll release it.

Weather is slowing me down I’ll get the rest out tomorrow in the good cat country for around here.

Did you get stuck with a 4 wheeler or a snowmachine?

They don’t get much use here as the snow seldom last very long lots of them used in the high country but not out in the flats. The fields are often bare and the ditches overflowing.

Good luck on the cats. That snow sucks, too much in some spots, not enough in others.

What about a bike with tracks or an argo.Or does the rough going not last long enough to warrant that expense.
I thought about getting an argo,lots of trappers here use them.They are the only way to acess a lot of the trapline just before freeze up and just after breakup-both good times to whack a ton of fur.
For me, it was not worth the expense,I could just wait a couple weeks at each end normally for freeze up to use the ski doo or til the snow was all gone enough off the trails for the bike at the expense of not being able to acess some good trapping country. at those times.

I drive in as far as I can then walk in if it’s bad. I pre haul my gear in before the snow or rain hits so I just carry in my cat bag to do relure or remakes. Hoped to get this cat quickly as it’s a 1 cat limit on that side of the State so I prebaited when I stashed the gear last week.
