What's eveyone using and liking for card readers/viewers for trail cams ? Wanna get dad one along with some trail cams , think he'd firmly enjoy it since he always loved looking at my trail cam footage. Wanna get him one of those little I pad looking deals that you can pop the SD card in and view all your footage but never messed with them. I know the ones that plug into you phone usually never seem to want to work ( lat lest the five or so I've tried) so any recommendations?

I had to get one directly from apple for my iPhone. Works great now. The others never seemed to be compatible.

Much more enjoyable to view them on a lap top or something similar. They make a card readers that plug into your ports if you dont have an SD card slot.

We have used a couple of the ones like 1st pic kind poor results, don’t last very long and hard to see pics in the field as screen is hard to read in bright sun. Also takes a lot of time for pics to download onto it.
Lightning reader like second pic has worked better for me just to quickly download pics onto iPhone or iPad then review pics later. They don’t seem to last more than 3-4 years for me but it’s quick, usually I end up leaning my card reader in my pocket and it gets washed which really shortens lifespan. LOL

If he’s got a smartphone you might with a cell camera, prices have really come down in price.

Stealth Cam is great but eats a lot of batteries.

Don't know your fathers age nor how good his eyesight is but do him a favor. Get him a small laptop that has a card reader on it. I've wasted money on adaptors and card readers. Hard to see. Slow to load. Pain to delete pics using them. Small laptop is the only way to look at them. Buy a cheap one from Walmart /amazon. Or you hit the pawn shops, just pick one up there for hardly what viewers cost.

Well he's got a laptop and he knows how to check as cards and what not ,idk was thinking he'd like a hand held deal. He's got an iPhone and is ok with it but still anything new tends to freak him out a little blush
