The rifle has no will of its own it may be used for evil but there are more good men than evil men and evil will be corrected by good men with rifles.

generally you leave them and bring a new block next year

ask yourself are you providing an essential mineral to keep deer around year round

or just trying to lure them over a property border to shoot them during season

build the habitat to hold the deer as best you can would be my thought.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Throw a mineral block in it.

This is when you need to put them out. Just put out a brown block from tractor supply yesterday as a matter of fact. Lick has been there for almost 12 years. IF you keep adding a block they don't eat the ground out as much.

There is no need to save the salt lick because the minerals are in the dirt. You can buy more salt at local stores like Walmart, Fleet Farm, Cabela's, Etc as long as you remove the corn 10 days before hunting season. The deer will find the minerals and start using their hooves to dig up the minerals. If no deer are currently coming it is now legal in our area code to put out Corn, Deer Salt & Minerals, and other deer attractants. In the spring the deer will start coming to your area more and start mixing the dirt to try to find the salt. Usually when the snow is not as much as prior years the deer may also use that to there advantage and dig in the winter as well but they will more in the spring. I keep my salt out year round my salt block got rained on and stormed on this fall and it is disintegrated now. The deer are still digging at it.

This^^^

Deer use the minerals/salt the most when they begin digesting green growth...
