Yes single spring duke 160

First time rat /mink double. Doubled on rats many times, oddly only once in a conibear.

Yea seems more likely in a conibear but in my experience foot traps are the ticket.

This weather is crazy. I’m being punished on some ponds. Walk 5 minutes across the ice last week, pull sled with 2 fingers To drag sled for and hour thru beaver stumps and swamp blowdowns. [Linked Image]

I was asked to post a couple pictures for Muskratwalt. It seems that he and BeaverBill were out early this morning and had some success.

The District 5 skinning/fur handling workshop is next weekend January 6th at my place near Foster, WI. I still have room for 1 or 2 if anyone is in need of some help or would like to learn. I have demos set up for everything from ermine to beaver......we might even do a demo on posting pictures to TMan for Walt!!!

Big trap, little beaver.
I think Beaver Bill and MuskratWalt got lost and ended up on the Mississippi backwaters by mistake. Fun way to spend a couple hours.

Jordan, my friend Sig (who you know) thinks you should video your fur clinic and put it on YouTube. I asked him if he wanted to go, but we won’t make it there. But it was a great time last year.

Thanks WIKA. I don't know if we'd get any views on YouTube!

I couldn't let Walt be the only beaver killer in the area today.

As I debated about calling 911 at 4:00 AM on the 27th December I made a list of trap locations on my land. I did go by ambulance in and had a heart attack that night, heart catheterization the next day, doc quit, said too problematic, and sent me to ST. Lukes for open heart surgery next day. So glad the surgeon could get me in before weekend or I would have sat in hospital till Tuesday. Three bypass done and now the slow recovery, but 36 hours was like night and day difference, the kids all had fun looking for traps, one skunk in a live trap, yes it sprayed them, and a coon in a killer trap. My sisters grandsons thought the dead buck they found was real cool. No beaver trapping for me, all picked up.

You're either the luckiest trapper or that's the most unlucky beaver, but I've got to give it to 'em they named that trap right, that's an extreme way to catch one.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

That was a close one. Looks like it slid a ways down the tail. Back in the the day We’d get an occasional one by the tail in toothy #4. Always a big bowl at the low end of the drowner with all four legs churning.
