Not only do we need the electoral college, we need some form of it at the State level. It’s the one thing the founders missed, to their defense though, I believe it was because they never believed people would gravitate to the cities.

Look at any election map that shows state's counties. Most states are all red except for the big cities which are blue. Unfortunately those clueless city-dwellers decide state elections because of their high population numbers.
A county-based electoral college system would make state elections fair; give a voice to the country folk just like the national electoral college was designed to do.

The Twin Cities and Duluth always determine the outcome of any election. The rest of the state consistently votes red.
