Dewey NY OP trapper D Joined: Aug 2016 Posts: 1,957 Central New York	Which is better? To flesh a coyote right after skinning or putting it outside in 25 degrees weather and letting the hide cool down for the night and fleshing the next day? Which way do the clean up better?

E.J. Kelley trapper E Joined: Mar 2021 Posts: 505 Wyoming	Seems a tad bit better to let the hide cool down or even freeze. Then make sure it is completely thawed then go ahead and flesh it. Some pelts you cant tell any difference.

If you let the animal cool before skinning you can leave 95% of the fat on the carcass when skinning.Very little work fleshing later.Takes a bit longer to skin that way though.
