I was just wondering if anybody has sold any muskrat yet, and what you folks were averaging.
My season best a few years ago was 80….I caught numbers 70,71,72, and 73 today,,, possibly I may tie and even surpass my previous record.
All my muskrat are put up,,, just so easy to skin and finish. Just wondering if 3-4 dollar average is what you guys were seeing

Youll probably be lucky to get a 50.00 bill for 80 rats right now. A guy sold some around here and said $2 was tops, so the average will be probably less than 2 bucks.

About 10 years ago 80 rats could have bought a pretty decent beater car, now you probably cant pay for a tank of gas.

Sold rats for $2.20 average…straight run with nothing sorted out. $4 top and $0.50 on smalls. Fall rats and were put up.

I've not seen one rat this year in the ditches I use to trap, no runs, dens, droppings, signs of feeding- nothing. Never seen it like this . These ditches could produce 1200-1500 rats in the 70s 80s early 90s.

have not sold yet any but bought several hundred.....averages 2.50 to 3 on trappers strait run

Came by here early December and doesn’t come again till April. Used to come every week until around Christmas then every 2 to 3 weeks. Haven’t sold any yet, gonna hold on to them till they reach 8 bucks average lol

I'd think you should average better than two bucks on a nice collection of rats. Maybe not a ton better, but better.

Sold my rats to Barnes today and averaged a little over $3.00 a rat. Not great but better then A $2.00 average.

It's quite possible the heirs to your estate upon your passing
will have a very long wait to achieve that lofty average. !!!

sold 13 medium rats today $1.50 average put up.

That's what I'm afraid of! Some people play the ponies. I play the rats. I've got a bunch and the kids and I added another 600+ between Christmas and new years. Luckily I have a day job and don't rely on fur money to make ends meet. Maybe I'll lose my hind end and have to buy a sewing machine and figure out how to make bed spreads! Still planning on heading back out to the marsh if we ever get good ice.
