Venison, fish, waterfowl and eggs. Not to mention the garden. The wife ground 50 pounds of goose breakfast sausage and did two canners of salmon today. Needed pork for the sausage, but it came from a sow we butchered. Feed ain't a big deal, the other things are expensive.

Kids are expensive, alright! But worth it.

Almost forgot rabbits. While we were splitting wood today the beagle was running. I finally told my daughter to get her. 410 and go kill that dog a rabbit. She got two.

sjc, you're going to have the young bucks on this site sending you PM's after your girl's contact info. LOL

I had some extra time today, so I decided I would take a walk just a little further up the Creek,,,, I started looking under the overhanging grass and went approximately 1/4 mile and was still finding fresh rat sign,,, I went back to the truck to see how many footholds I had left,,, I was able to pop in 6 new sets,,, I’m pretty confident that they will be occupied tomorrow. And then pull them early Tuesday morning.I want to set a whole bunch more out, because of all the rat sign I’m seeing… but we have a system coming in Monday night that will start out as heavy rain and then turn into snow 3-6 inches ( checking more traps might be complicated)
Then it’s going to get cold enough to get some thick ice on Friday and stick around a bit) I despise under ice trapping… lol.
