Called for 2-4 inches of snow here. So far no snow and all rain and temps are rising. Too bad it wasn't snow or we would have about 2 feet.

exactly , I was thinking must be a slow news day when the 5-7 inch snowmageddon is happening actually about an inch this morning then rain on top.

the MKE news lady was concerned about the blowing snow at the same time she said it will be a heavy wet snow
now falling snow can be heavy and wet and blow some but heavy wet snow tends to stay where it falls especially if it switches back to rain every few hours.

if you were getting off school before you better have had >6 inches that fell after 2am.
our school district was half the county for HS everyone bussed in.

we put in the extra effort to get up early shovel before school & work , leave early ,leave time to drive.
I would say it was a point of pride to be one of the first people at work on a snowy day.

Here we had about 3 to 4 maybe a little more falling the worst part now is the wind as it’s moving the snow pretty good, the school here did virtual learning today.

Interstate hands have been on top of things.

They missed the low last night at my place by17 degrees. -12 was my low, they had said 5 above. It shows it down to -27 later this week. If they miss that I hope it is the the other direction.

Probably drive all the way there to find out the doctor took a snow day.

We probably got 6"s here. Was shifting between rain and snow for most of the day yesterday or we would have had a lot more I am sure. Should be good moisture content from this storm either way, which is definitely a plus. Noticed a little water finally setting in the bottom of one of our ponds that dried up this past summer.

Quite true then you add in pretty much unlimited snow days and HERE when my kids were in school plowing and spreading dirt/ salt on the bus route was the road commissions top priority. morning and night nowdays side roads are the last to get plowed

Dr was there. They called to make sure we would be. Snowplows got the main roads drivable.

They are calling for 8-10 inches here of really wet, heavy snow. I blew the first 4 inches out and now it is really coming down. I did not want to try and blow 10 inches of that stuff in one swipe. Not much frost in the ground here, maybe a lot of the water will soak in a bit. We can use the moisture as our ground water level here is really low.
I spent 10 years on our local school board and know all about the calls one gets on closures etc. It is one thing to be concerned and questioning but many are just very mean spirited from the get go. Spent 31 years teaching in a tech college also and we had our issues too as we a rural campus located about 10-12 miles from the two major cities we served.

One inch of snow here can drift the roads shut with a little wind, your old tracks then fill in making it tough to get through I had to walk in both places today.

About 15 years ago, the Outer Banks had a sifting of snow that didn't stick in many areas. It did however stick on the downwind side of a red cedar tree causing a small patch of snow on the road. A teacher hit that patch of snow and was killed in an auto accident. Unfortunate. Administrators can't win whenever school delays or cancellations are made, or not made.

We have about an inch or two maybe! But, we have already received around 17’ of warnings and advisories.

Got offered 2 weeks work in New York by a powerline contractor. Not a friggin chance! If Mb Hydro was putting a couple crews together I’d go in a heartbeat. These contractors and alotta linemen can’t do a thing if they can’t get a bucket truck to the pole. Some don’t even have a set of spurs. Useless as boobies on a bull.

Most don't realize what wind and a small amount of snow can do on the open prairie.

Or, smart, mebbe. My pops spent 35 years as a utility lineman. He never complained about using a bucket truck.
