I’m having trouble getting them to commit to the tube trap. I followed the instructions and placed bait on the inside directly above the pan. Using peanut butter and seeds. I know they’re active because the bits of bait I had just outside the trap are gone. Have the traps about 10 feet off ground on trees. Squirrel activity is obvious so I know they’re here. Thoughts ?

1) put the bait on the pan

2) why are you trying to catch them in the trees?

Assuming you are trying to catch squirrels living in a house, place the traps near the entry hole, preferably with an excluder over the hole.

Positive set thd trap at the hole. And what type of squirrels? The tube traps will work on grays, but reds are too light.

I put some bait UNDER the pan. And some on the pan. Place the traps near where you are seeing them. I use peanuts.

Greys. Just trying to reduce population. After I posted this I checked and got one. Putting bait on and under pan seems to work
