I'm a small time guy and only need a couple gallons of bait a year. Would it make sense to just do a kitchen sink approach to meat baits? What I mean is if I'm going to taint and preserve, deer, mice, muskrat, catfish, crappie, catfish bellies and the like should I just mix them all in to a master meat sludge or keep them separate?

As good as I could make,

I was thinking tainted meats, cultured eggs, a premade bait solution( something with castor and maybe skunk), smoked cherries and some kind of rendered fat. I make a fair amount of turkeys hams and bacon so I might just save those fats. Then of course glycerin to stop freezing.

I know they meats need tainted individually as some go off quicker than others, but is there a benefit to keeping them separated and portioning out all the additives to each separate meat? Or would combining them make a more layered appealing bait.

Only way to know is test it. An ingredient isn't any good until you know what the coyotes think of it. Some think fat is fat in a formulation and it isn't. There's different levels of attraction just from one fish oil to the other. Lot of advise on forums like this one and youtube and some advise is marginal at best.

Trouble with throwing a bunch of stuff together without testing each ingredients effects you could be adding stuff that adds no attraction thus diluting the attraction of other ingredients or worse yet having a negative affect on the formulation.

You list list 6 different meat bases, I can promise you some are more attractive than others to coyote. Why add a less attractive base to a more attractive base? There are times some combining of bases add to the formulation and there are times combining bases detract from the formulation.

May I ask, where do you get smoked cherries? Or do you just add liquid smoke to ground up cherries and call it a day?
