It was very small, rubbed badly and an ordinary color. Pretty much the worst of the worst. At least it won't eat any more grouse and will leave my chickens alone.

Still dark in the swamp,3" of light powdery snow and still a little snow falling.Got a little glare on that picture,that's what a good bobcat belly looks like.Pretty sure he would have been a Top lot cat,but I got that one mounted,he had some marking on his back also.He was caught up north where we pulled because of the mother with the 2 kittens were there.Have a good day,I have a few more things to take of today,and check my weasel boxes I have out.

The glare is from taking the photo when I woke up and couldn't sleep .

Going out to check boxes and other things,just cleared off the truck 4 1/2" of snow with flurries still coming down.Weasel holes in the boxes might be snowed over.

Well no cats or coyotes but did catch my nemesis otter today! He was waiting for me in a snare I set for coyote but happy to have him waiting for me non the less! Will be pulling most of my set tomorrow as I will be heading up to Baxter for a BOD meeting tomorrow evening, then the winter meeting on Saturday. Will be working the NTA booth so stop by and say hi!

Good deal on the otter in your coyote snare,I did that once not sure how an otter gets caught in a loop 9" to 10" off the round.Must be on there lope,guessing he was alive,mine was wrapped up tight in the willows dead.Snow had covered most of the weasel boxes,I uncovered and will pull all of them Sat had one large male today.

I have caught two otter in Fox snares over the years, both in the Winter. An old timer claimed that after freeze up some adult otter will run trails looking for rabbits. I don't know if that is the case but that is what he claimed.

yes they do run trails bunny hunting one fellow in the RTL area sets the same spot both sides of his trail, and bingo for the last 40 years
but it only takes 5 minutes for them to breaking the back door of a beaver lodge to get to water

Might not be a cat but hopefully more of these go down. Nice male today.
