Have captured about 8 or 10 beavers using these to support beaver foothold traps. I've gotta give them a positive plug. They are working very good to support trap in deep boot-sucking mud on high side of dams and mucky bottoms at castor mound sets. The long legs stabilize well in deep mud. Allows set to go in quick and stable.

This morning's Black Widow bite victim with MB750 venom..

I take it you always push it down in the bottom and not in the bank like a platform.

Yes

Trap will be turned wrong way unless able to push support into a side bank parallel to beaver's approach.

3 more this morning in 750s supported by BW stands. Double at dam breach (one being the brood sow). Other was at a dam crossover.

Overlooked this crossover during initial setup. 750 there now.

I sure don't regret picking a couple up to try at the convention!

I welded a link of chain to attach a stop loss cable. Then attached a flat stake swivel on end of cable so one rebar stake holds the stand and the bank end of rebar drowning rod. I didn't want it to go down with the trap & beaver and get bent. Needs to stay put.

Stop loss may not even be needed. I'm over a dozen beavers caught with the stands and not one has been pulled up....but it could happen and at $15/each...no chances.

The Ambush trap dip (brown color) is holding up good too on the BWs. I didn't even clean the factory oils off b4 dipping.

Is the trap fitment specific to the MB750, or can other traps be used with the system?

Haven't lost any of the new stands but the previous version of the stands I have had those get displaced somehow.

I've put MB750s, Bridger 5s, CDRS, TS 85, NoBS Beaver, and Duke 5 longspring in the stand.

The 750s and CDRs fit the best.

The B5s fit a little loosely...but the ends can be bent down slightly to make it more snug.

TS85 fits pretty good.

DUKE 5 LS is decent fit.

But, the NoBS Beaver has to be set in a little angled as part of the trap interferes with the support.

I've caught beaver using the stands only with 750s ...so far.

Great idea. Thank you for sharing.

How long did you make the cable?

Seek,
Cables are about 15" to 18" so trap position in relation to staked end of drowning rod is more flexible to get it in the right spot.
