Not Beaver trapping weather here - mind numbing -42 c this morning; ice is going to thicken considerably this week- good for snaring coyotes though

Weather has been playing with me too. So far I've only managed 8 checks. Laid out a line yesterday but an ice storm descended upon us last night and can't leave the farm this morning. Dang Minnesota weather!

All we had was cold and a wind, thought you lived in Oregon? Only one outage last night, Moose Lake. Almost hit Warroad before I realized I missed my turn….lol! Be a cold check today for the fellas going out.

2" of ice over everything right now. The arctic blast collided with a big moisture laden front coming off the Pacific. We were right in the crosshairs. Had to use an ax to break away the ice to get into my fur drying room this morning.

8:01 AM local time and Beaverpeeler reports 91 beaver up to this point. BTW, they're all stretched and dried.

Still only 49 caught.


(But I have skinned ~511 so far this season...so I can stay ahead of Beaver Peeler in one category!)

According to y calculations Mike skinned each beaver 10 times. Must get a little easier each time huh?

I'm at 94 with the partner deduction
and done till March or the ice goes away.

Stuck on 7 and shoulder surgery on 1-23-24. I think I'm going to have to bow out. I really think I could have won this thing. Some very impressive catches !! Keep up the good work all !
