I think it really started with Hoover and then the cia got into it with the first Kennedy killin. I think Bush got them together, pooled their resources and they found out they had everyone blackmailed cept Ron paul and Donald Trump. They then found out they didnt need mind altering drugs and such to control 50 % of the population, They could just take over the democrat party and the weekminded media. The rest is history.

Nixon was the last uncorrupted president and look what they did to him. I would say Reagan as I don't believe him to have been corrupt at heart but he made too many deals.
It was Nixon's fault that we lost the war in Vietnam, a war we should never had been involved in. We lost a lot of brave soldiers needlessly. The real corruption started after Kennedy was assassinated. Obama put it into passing gear.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.
It has always been corrupt, but hit another level during the FDR years. New Deal, WW2 drastically increased the size and power of the federal government. It seems that all governments, no matter what the ideology begin to become corrupt over time. Once any government attains a certain size it's priority is to serve itself instead of the people.

Help my memory. Was she the IRS Commissioner who was accused of using IRS audits to punish political enemies, and who pleaded the Fifth when called to testify before Congress?
Let's assume she was guilty. She didn't get away with it for long, did she? The government, which you say is corrupt, did catch and correct that act of corrupt employees before long. Our Constitution's system of checks and balances worked as intended.
I've dealt--and fought--with a good number of government employees. I've reversed and over-turned some of them, cussed them, and commiserated with clients over a few of their decisions. I've found them to be arrogant, overbearing, and pig-headed--or small people impressed with their own little sphere of power.
But I never ran into one I considered corrupt.

Not quite Jim.
Lois was found to be in contempt of Congress and referred to the DOJ for prosecution. This was in 2013 or 14. The DOJ , of course, refused to prosecute her and a two years later issued a report to congress that they could find no wrong doing or political bias. The DOJ also ignored that she, and the IRS destroyed thousands of emails and other documents that were under subpoena by the Congress...........they also destroyed the taped back-ups of those documents. No one faced any consequences for this. Lerner was allowed to retire peacefully and is currently drawing her pension.
She was instructed by her superior about how to answer a question that would be posed by the House Ways and Means Committee that had been "planted" by the American Bar Association with a Democrat member of that committee. Her supervisor later testified to this before that same committee.
By the way, Lerner was also past president of the Council on Governmental Ethics Laws .
The federal government is incompetent, overbearing, and arrogant.
It is not corrupt, though no doubt a small percentage of government employees may be.
Don't y'all ever get tired of conspiracy theories?

Wow talk about living with blinders on lol, the funny thing is they don't even try to hide the corruption anymore they just rub it in your face because they are above the law. Back to " normal " = America last and selling our country out to the highest bidder-----No thank, you it's time to wheel out the guillotines!
1789 was first meeting of the US government under authority of it’s constitution. 1784 was the Treaty of Paris before the Federal Government was formed. 1784 was also the year the Ottoman Empire annexed Crimea to Russia.
