From talking to the Doc he said short term memory issues do not necessarily impact the long term memory in many cases. I don’t take anything but mine has improved as my fog cleared up. I still do well on trivia shows .

My wife watches the same movies for the first time often I sit back to see if she figures it out before the end of the movie.

All I can suggest to you is to try to hang around people that you like, maybe some of them that you haven't heard from in a while.
My mother-in-law is losing her memory in a significant way. We live 900 miles away so we don't see her as often as we would like, and she has trouble remembering people that she should.
I have a way of getting through to her and make her laugh over the phone. Once I get through, she'll come back on me better than I got her and she'll get me laughing so hard I can't breathe.
I don't know how bad your memory is, but stimulation which comes from being around people that you get along with helps.

The brain shrinks as we age. Drink lots of water, most older folks are not well hydrated.

I keep my mind sharp by trying to convince people I did not say what they said I did, it’s a struggle. LOL

I bought some memory enhancement pills at Walgreens and began to take them. Bought a one month supply and at the end of the month I had 5 left over.
