So.....south east Wisconsin lost power Friday and Saturday. Heavy snow followed by subzero Temps. For most (including us) this meant no heat.

Boy...... that stack of "worthless" brain tanned raccoon pelts sure came in handy.
We all buckled down in my bed, candles and lanterns lit in the bedroom and stacks of pelts on top of the blankets and quilts. We were completely comfortable and felt like boujie camping.

I know I'm preaching to the choir but.....dang......nothing beats real, natural fur.

Been wearing my raccoon hat since the snow started, nice and toasty warm. Really need to make a pair of gauntlet mittens some time.

I always thought those raccoon blankets were ugly. Well......I still think that but who cares when you're nice and toasty.
