Southern people eat bread to stay warm? I really don't understand it but it's supposed to get cold all the bread and milk will be gone from the shelves. And depending on how bad it's supposed to be it will go from just the regular bed to any and all bread products. Same with milk. Think it's for sandwiches when the power goes out

That behavior is human nature, Wofle. It happens up here too when a storm is coming, even though we actually have winter. Y'all actually have stuff in black for keeping roads open though lol

Who dosen't already have a year's worth of beer and sausages? Maybe the same people who don't have a lifetime supply of ammo?

That behavior is human nature, Wofle. It happens up here too when a storm is coming, even though we actually have winter. Y'all actually have stuff in black for keeping roads open though lol when you get 10 inches of heavy wet snow then it goes -20 overnight , you have a very narrow window to get it off the road. the issue is even with plows , there are not enough drivers to work the hours needed to clear everything with 3 consecutive days of snow. once you go sub zero nothing leaves the road you can only sand over the ice you have to let a plow driver sleep some time. also some counties this year appear to be balancing the roads budget on not needing to plow , you can see when you hit a county line that the roads get better or worse. we also have a lot of transplants and people who forgot how to drive during covid , or watch so much network TV that they think every little snow is snowmagedon.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Being able too make bread from scratch is one of the most overlooked survival skill
From scratch I mean, from just seeds/grains
Humans have been doing since the beginning of time,,,,,,, very few can do it today One of my bucket list things is to get a little grain mill and learn

The milk is to make a big pot of sausage/potato soup and the bread is for grilled cheese sandwiches to go with the soup.
The weather might be miserable but there is no need to not eat good!

Bannock is simple to make anywhere, even on an open fire on a stick. Frybread if you got a frypan and a bit of saltpork.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.
