After about 2 weeks I had a beaver repair the break in the dam,
so I reset 4 bank dens with no luck, I found a den entrance above
water line as I was poking around to see how far back it went
a beaver came out, so the next day I was in the process of setting the
the entrance and the beaver came out again, I got it setup.
I've had no luck yet, so there must be a den that I didn't find
before the ice got to thick, yesterday I put in a baited 330
hanging set by the feed pile, no luck this morning the ice
is 10" thick two of my 330s are now frozen in.
Three days ago I put a snare in where the coyotes where crossing
the dam as they where walking the river caught this one
yesterday.

Thanks for the good wishes on my fur selling adventure. If nothing else it’s pretty cool to see in person how another association handles things.
The buyers have all day to look at fur and their sealed bids I think are put in tonight. We won’t see results until tomorrow.

Good luck BP and safe driving.
You staying the night or driving back?

Bowhunterks, that's something to see it swim out twice. Hopefully you get him in the next check. Nice coyote, that's the way to take advantage of going to the dam. I've caught quite a lot of mink while beaver trapping
after seeing tracks and setting for them the next day

Yeah Turtle, I’m spending the night because if my minimums aren’t met I’m bringing stuff home.
Btw, got to meet Musty. He has some very nice beaver on the sale. The kid knows how to put up fur too!

That's the way it looks with Musty, I give him ALOT of credit for getting after the beavs the way he does with his regs! Best wishes from Kansas!

Yeehaw! Over $35 average on my beaver on the ITA sale. Maybe I won’t have to start a go-fund me page after all for when I get the bill for my walk in freezer’s new compressor job.

Back to the river for more once it starts coming down again!
PS. Got $40/ lb for wet castor from them waterlogged beavers I skinned the day before I headed to Idaho. Yehaw!

BP, good to hear. Especially after your long drive. Wonder what your dried castor would have went for.

Musty, hope you did well too

Sounds like my nose count I got for a mixed bag of sizes at 30 bucks a piece was right on the money.

BP, glad to hear you made it home safe. Sounds like you did good. Our sale is in a couple weeks. We have a few on the boards, and then we have to prep everything and we’ll be ready. I have a friend that is going to bring some beaver down tonight , to keep me from detoxing. Lol

Congats BP! Nice when all that hard work pays off. I dropped fur at the FHA truck on Saturday and the driver said he didn't think the beaver catch would meet the supply needed so that's good news.

57 years trapping. It's who I am. Every day is still as exciting as it was when I was a kid but a little more work.

Hey NF. Not home yet. Started at a raunchy little hotel last night at about the halfway point. Going to spend the day calling coyotes in the Oregon desert and get back late tonight.

Btw, my big lot of 79 XL’s and blankets fetched $3233 before commission taken out. Over $40 avg

What a fun weekend!
It was great to meet you beaverpeeler. Your pile of fur was very impressive and your knowledge of fur handling and trapping is second to none.
Very happy with the fur I sold and I am excited to see where the beaver market goes this year.
Thanks for the encouraging words you guys. Time to get back after it!

Nah, I'm going to the intermountain fur harvesters sale up in St. Maries, ID. Its a good fur sale and a much shorter drive for me. Are you planning on going to the March ITA sale?
