When the 1st human contracts CWD from eating infected venison, that will change things, eh?

I would believe an infinite number of infected deer have been eaten by people over the last 50 years.

Everybody has to die from something.

I know some individuals that ate CWD infected deer. And they haven't died yet. My family eats lots of venison and I have never had a deer tested yet.

MCD is very, very similar to CWD...caused by same abnormal proteins.

Someone has to be 1st Beav. The person that contracted mad cow disease likely said.."my family and I have ate a lot of beef and we're OK"...

We eat a ton of deer but if the deer doesn’t seem right when I shot it I would let it lay , kind of like a distempered coon you would know if it was sick or in a letter stage . The way I read it is to avoid cutting through the bones or just debone the meat like usually everyone does that does this themselves

If...and I say "IF" CWD makes the jump to humans...it would suck to bring home venison, feed it to your family and one or more of them die..

Not trying to be a doom and gloom guy here, but there are 3 known forms of this disease..mad cow disease, sheep scrapie, and CWD. One has made the jump to humans.

Some worry so much about dying they miss out on living

The solution is to come up with a vaccine that really isn’t a vaccine for cwd, and then mandate that all that consume venison get it or you can no longer hunt.

It sure isn't me that I'm worried about dying.....but I sure don't want to be responsible for killing my family.

I think all that $$ should be poured in to making sure it cannot jump to humans. Stopping it in deer is IMPOSSIBLE.

True, Dr Grant Woods told me years ago that CWD has been here forever and is in every state and Provence in USA and Canada.

The things we are consuming each day that are supposed to be safe, I would guess aren't accurate. It would be an eye opener with all the chemicals used on plants and animals if what we eat is totally safe and believing it is. IMO

Then I guess that we'll have to start, (or continue) our subsistence poaching !!!!
