Anyone mess with RC motors and the like ? Wanna build a little deal that would run off of a small power source, maybe like a drill battery be remote controlled and can spin something at different rates for a good little distance with a remote control . Should I start front he bare basics of RC motors 101 ? Or is there a area of learning I can jump to ? Not the best with electronics but I've been looking at stuff in Amazon and doesn't seem like it would be the hardest thing in the world

Hey Wolfie check out ohmify. Its an online electronics course. It'll cover anything electronic. I been at it 2 years now. There are 2 lessons that should cover what you are looking for. Remote controlled toy car and controlling motors. Along with all the basic electronic stuff to get you up to speed. They are very helpful with community discussion. Oh by the way I spent three years at Keesler Air Force base in Biloxi. Loved South Mississippi

Depending on what you want to do with said motor. But a RC transmitter and receiver with a 6 volt battery to power said receiver and a speed controller plugged into it wis the easiest way of controlling an electric motor. Depending on the size of the motor, you'll need a batterie for that and you have to match the max output of the speed controller to the motor. If you tell me what you want to do, I can give you better recommendations.

But here is what would do what you want in basic form

transmitter and reciever

20 A controller

This speed controller also has a supply for the receiver so you don't need a separate batterie for it and run it of the batterie that powers your motor...... I don't know what size motor you want to run so cant comment till you tell me what you want to do

Come on over and I can show you some "stuff" been playing with RC planes, heli's and boats since the 60's. What Scuba said, it gets cheaper and better all the time.
