Wanting a rough idea of what a one color paint job for a 86 chevy pickup would cost the truck doesn't have any rust issues that I know of. I have no clue so any help would be appreciated.

do you remember the Macco paint deal what was it like 50 bucks + paint? you did all the prep and taping they laid down color

it all depends on how much prep you do yourself

and who you use
if you plan to wet sand it all yourself and they wipe , tape paint the exterior then a lot less

you could also get a gun and practice on the inside of the bed then work your way around

it if it isn't the same color as it was originally you probably want to remove the bed so you can get the back of the cab

The big insurance shops don't want it and will charge accordingly

You need to locate an old school bodyman doing it in his backyard shop

Paint is priced crazy now like said find a guy that does his own painting or a small town body shop. Even if you can do the prep work yourself that’s a savings but look into that you can do more harm then good if you do it wrong.
