Finally caught a couple of nice Wyoming toms.
1 has some cast on the belly but the other is really nice.

Probably going to pull sets this weekend as more snow is coming.

These 2 are getting the free ride up to Canada for the FHA auction.

MB550s with Wind River trap pans added.
Both at or near cubby sets.
Spouse missed the nicer one with his 1.75 trap but the MB 550 I set near a log held tight.

Love seeing the cat catches, post some up here too if wanted.

There has to be a whole different species for Southern bobcats. Maybe ours are midget cats? Those jokers y’all got are well fed, lol. That catch pole would need to be a foot or three longer for me with cats like that, lol! Well done!

Cold country cats bulk up a lot more. I grew up on the coast and a 30 pound cat was really big there. My dad hunted bobcats on the coast of Washington and Oregon for fifty years and the biggest he ever weighed was 33 lbs 12 oz. I catch ones bigger than that every year here. They aren't usually that much longer, although they do get longer, but they just bulk up a lot more. Southern cats, both southwest and southeast and those up both coasts until you get up in the cold country like Maine and British Columbia are a lot lighter and leaner built as well as being a little smaller frame.

The bigger one was on a drag, not a fan of 8 ft chains.
Spouse got the pole close and he made several mad jumps my way, pistol was at the ready, lol.

I'm beginning to think our cats are longer legged also, when we hold them up they always look huge it seems.

That would have been nice for breeding stock but most of my ground is kill them all ground too. Bet a taxidermist will like it.

Caught a cat today that didn't have any ears. Looks like something bit them off.

I caught one years ago over in beaverpeeler's country that only had one ear. Looked like a birth defect, no scarring. It had the ear canal and everything internal looked normal so I assume it could hear fine, but had no external ear on that side.

Side note, I know a guy who has a similar issue, I can't remember his name, we always called him the one eared guy. lol

Jump off the cliff or climb the tree after being snared?

Either way it looks like it might have been a challenge to recover Yes sir smile
