What does a coyote do when it sees a fox in a trap? I figured a coyote would kill the fox but I’ve never had a fox killed in a trap.

A coyote will do what a coyote will do to a fox in a trap...

I've had for sure kilt, for sure chomped on, and for sure left alone. With snow to see whats up

Normally nothing. Typically they just walk around, check out the fox in the trap & then leave. However, on occasion they may kill one. That can happen with almost any animal in a trap though. On occasion, a coyote may even kill another coyote or a bobcat in a trap. That's not the norm, but it can happen. Just depends on how aggressive the predator not in the trap is feeling & how vulnerable the animal in the trap is perceived to be.

Thanks guys! Those sets were in there for over a month before I finally connected. I caught another coyote in the coyote catch set 2 days later.

Yep, one I had killed by coyotes in that same location. I put the fox paw in the dirthole and had a coyote the next day.
