I was interested in buying some dogless traps and heard the K9 extremes were the best built. I had heard all the pan tension issues with the No BS K9 extreme jr traps, which made me a little hesitant about buying them.

I went ahead and purchased a half dozen outside laminated 4 coiled K9 extreme jrs. These thing make MB550’s seem cheaply built. They are a complete tank and weigh a ton. The coating is extremely nice and so I decided to just power wash them and set them up as is. No wax or bowstring wax at all.

After power washing and drying them I was able to able to adjust all 6 traps between 3-3.5 # of tension with only adjusting pan tension bolt, No wax or filing or bowstring wax. Very happy and tested them many times. I will say my only complaint is with the 4 coil model, it’s a little tricky to get it night latched, but it’s getting better so we will see…maybe just new. Anyway, as far as my experience so far….9.5/10 trap with very minor adjustment needed.

I am just a “Average Joe” and am not affiliated with No BS in anyway. I will be adding these next year to my fleet of Duke and MB 550’s. All 6 traps were tested with a Sullivans pan tension tester directly in the middle of the pan. I hope this helps.
