I have always changed my oil and filters on cars and pickups. And lawn mower,ATV and UTV 'S.
So I called the dealership service the other day to get the oil and filter changed on our Jeep Cherokee. And I asked how much for full synthetic Mobile 1. They said $115.00 Total that included everything. She said it covers waste fee, shop fee an a factory jeep oil filter. I just said ok thank you, and think I'm getting old but not crippled. And gonna stick with doing it myself, for under $50.00
Just curious of who else still changes there own
Let me sugar coat this

With Mobile 1 you don't have to change.................very often!

I have always changed my own oil.
My drain plug looks like brand new minus a tiny bit of paint missing. I always use a 6 point box-end wrench.

I’m cheap I do all of my own work on everything I own. Trucks, SUV, mowers, rototiller, log splitter I keep them running and do the maintenance on them all.

I was a mechanic most of my life. Worked with a lot of guys that I wouldnt let put gas in my mower. So I still do all my repairs and oil changes. But I did pay a guy to rebuild my trans in f350.

We got free oil changes and maintenance for the first 75,000 miles the dealership was offering on my wife’s Camry bought new. This was the only time in the past 20-25 years I have not done my own oil changes. The exception is my Honda pioneer. I still get it serviced at the dealer.

The guy that does the oil and filter work is starting at the bottom to learn the job and could be thinking about missing football practice. LOL I’ve had my skid plate rattling from a missing bolt when the warranty changes were done at the dealer.

The tool costs are minimal. Plus here , a few years back one of our politicians , actually did something smart. State law (CT) all licenced oil change places have to accept used oil for free from John Q Citizen. Essentially making every oil change place a drop-off point. I take mine to Jiffy-Lube ( Pennzoil ) Most places have a waste oil heater , so they get free heating oil. Pennzoil takes the bulk of their used oil back to the refinery , re-refine it and use it again in various ways.

Yep I have about 200 quarts on hand and about 30 oil filters for various vechiles and motorcycles, utv .
I have a stash of air filters , cabin filters , and fuel filters too .
I like to buy when stuff is on sale , I just last week had 40 quarts of 5w30 full synthetic shipped from Costco to the house for $ 3.10 a quart . Not sure how they can ship that much wieght free of charge .
The oil monkeys at those drive through joints will screw your rig up in a hurry

I dug a hole to dump used oil in. been using the same one for years. I sometimes take it the landfill where they have a free recycle tank . I took in ten gallons one time and the check in guy tells me it's a 5 gallon per day limit . I said fine I'll dump the other 5 gallons in the river . He said go ahead and dump it ......lol Sometimes I dump it on the ground under a burn pile of debris I'm about to burn
