The Chip Eater thread got me thinking. We like to buy a variety box of chips when going on vacation or to the lake. I always throw the box away and put the bags of chips/jerky/trail mix in a 5 gallon bucket with a lid. Then the bucket can be thrown in the back of the truck, piled high with luggage, or used as a seat without smashing the chips.
Keep a 3 gallon bucket in the back seat of the vehicles for a trash can and to be used for anything else as necessary. Ratchet straps and chains also go in a bucket in the truck. Not to mention using buckets feeding calves.
We were on vacation one time and stopped for gas. My wife was getting something out of the back of the vehicle and a lady walked over and said "oh, you're bucket people!" We looked and she had a couple buckets in her car also. She and my wife stood there and had a discussion about the advantages of using plastic buckets to haul snacks etc on vacation.
Not sure what everyone else uses these for, but they're handier than a pocket on a shirt. God Bless the person who invented the plastic bucket!

They have a jillion uses around our place. I have a couple dedicated to trapping, a few are full of waxed dirt and have lids, some have various tools for my projects around here plumbing bucket, one for carpentry stuff, etc.) Our yard work, our garden, we have a couple clean ones for washing vehicles and our boat, some for fishing, and the list goes on and on. Lots of drywall buckets cleaned out, some we got with purchases of other items and supplies. Last summer when we tore off our old crappy deck and built a new one…buckets were used for everything from collecting old nails to hauling tools and hardware from front garage to back of house every day. I’ve mixed small batches of concrete in them. Paint. Drywall. Yep, buckets are an important part of our world. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Absolutely. I need a bumper sticker that says " I make sudden stops for buckets in the ditch." The worst buckets are the ones you buy at Menards, HD, Lowes etc. Cheap plastic and brittle. Only thing they're good for is marinating a turkey. As for buckets stuck together, drill a small hole in the bottom of one and blow some air pressure into it. Boom. Just know which ones have holes when it's time to water the plants. Also can drill a small hole in the bottom on the side to slowly irrigate trees or whatever.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Keep your buckets out of the sun they last way longer that way, the same with those Gamma lids the sun rots them faster in the suns UV rays.

Burger King got their pickles in green 5 gallon pails years ago not sure about today. Bakery fillings come in a verity of bucket types and sizes some have thinner walls so take that into consideration for hot oils.

For stuck buckets Flip upside down Put foot through handle of first bucket and pull on second. Works amazing well
Every once in a while this even fails to work. In such case I fire up the torpedo heater and heat the outside bucket up for a few seconds. It expands fast and lots of times they fall apart on their own

Subway 3 gallon pickle buckets with locking lids. Try trimming every other latch on lid for easier removal when reusing. Rinse as needed. Opened and exposure to sunlight , seems to go a long ways toward odor reduction.

I used to have a bakery that I could get free 4 gallon buckets from
it was really nice when they cleaned the doughnut frosting out of them, but if they hadn't I had some cleaning to do
made my wife never want to eat a doughnut again seeing 6 month old frosting in a bucket stored all summer in the garage and it was the same as the day it was opened unless the bugs got in the bucket.

God bless the person that can share how to separate buckets that stacked together and are stuck! Put COLD water in the inside bucket, and spray HOT water on the outside bucket. Your welcome!
