Good on you! I remember coming up through school in biology dissecting worms, frogs, sharks, and piglets. I wonder if they still do that. Seems we started dissecting in 8th grade all through high school.

I did the very same thing for a Boy Scout Troop some years ago.
The Leader asked me to do a trapping demonstration. I decided to start with what a trapper has to do after he catches a beaver, so that they knew what they were getting themselves into. I then showed them how to set a 330 and a foothold and the basics of the drowning slide set.
It was a big hit. Lots of questions. No negative comments whatsoever.
Kids are not the problem. A lot of their problems are many of their parents, and most of their teachers.
Any of y'all ever have half a chance to do something like this, do it. It will greatly benefit young people in very real ways.

That's great!.
Refresher course for youngsters that need to know there's more to life then a phone.

Nice work!

Would agree that you did as much for trapping as anyone or any other program could , problems I have here is there are to many bunny smugglers in the school system , won't even agree to demonstrating how to set cage traps.

Yes the teacher said bring a lot of beaver next year. He also said that this was the only time this year he didn’t see a single phone out the whole hour long class.

Nice job!

I did a semester long fur tanning class with a FFA class at my kids' high school back in Nebraska. It was fun and the kids all enjoyed it. Most were farm kids so they were already trapping or hunting, but for those couple kids that didnt have a critter I brought them one. We went from carcass animal to a tanned hide.

I think what you did was great. Unfortunately, some of these woke schools would never let it happen because it justifies trapping.

I do a one hour trapping class every firearms training session we have. The kids are almost more interested in the trapping class than the firearms. It really holds their attention. This and what you are doing helps them understand how trapping is a necessary tool for good conservation. Good job, Tyler!

Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.
