Look where his feet are when his nose is at the attractor. His front feet.too me the the attractors are too far apart and your trap is too far from the attractors

Another thing I'll add is the wind is the best guiding for coyotes there is. I'm guessing the wind was from the camera to the set by the way the coyote worked the set. Keep in mind terrain and trees affect wind direction especially at ground level.

Look at how the coyote is approaching the dirt hole in picture two. You have brought him around from the back side around the backing. Place the trap where the yote is standing. If I were to set this, I would put in a second blind set just inside of the tree along the backing with a light stepping guide (stone, twig), right in the yotes tracks.

I think that pic makes the tree look close but it isn't. Its at least 3 feet if not 5-6 feet. Can't remember very well.

They're going to circle to the back of that set a lot more than you think. A blind set wouldn't hurt anything. It's like the old saying goes, if it's good enough for one trap, it's good enough for two. Like mentioned, use very subtle guiding on it.

That coyote can be caught

The further the trap is from the attractors the more real estate you’re giving that coyote to dance around on.

Get that trap right up tight to your attractor(s).

When I make a hole set, I want one lever IN the hole.

When I make a flat set, I want my smell as close to the jaws without actually being inside the jaws.

And ALWAYS put your smells where the coyote has to “work” to get at it. Don’t give them a free taste.

Your green blob on the branch there would have served you better to be under the branch.
