Tamworth Distilling in NH has a Eau de Musc castoreum flavored whiskey. I've seen it before but it's always been out of stock. Well, it's back in stock, but as someone who doesn't buy a lot of specialty whiskey, I balked at the price. It's $65 plus $20 for shipping. Not bad for a decent sized bottle, but this is only a 200ml bottle. That's just over half the volume of a 12 oz can.

Anybody tried it?

In case anyone wants to scoop one up, here's a link to more info.

If you are a trapper, just make your own.
People here put castor in gin and drink as a tonic.

I bought some when had beaver camp at my cabin a couple years ago.
Had to ship it to my sister in Florida and my parents drove it back as they can’t ship to Wisconsin.
Maybe they can ship it to Minnesota tho!
It was ok but I don’t like whisky anyhow and was only enough for 3 shots/sips

That Distillery is about an hour north of me.

Been there a couple times ..the Beaver Whiskey is a novelty thing.

10.00 per ounce...it's only a 6.5 oz bottle

Nice gift for that Beaver Trappah.

Would rather have a nice single malt Scotch for that kind of flow.

I once upon a time fixed myself up a beaver steak that some castor had got on. Couldn't spit enough for the next three days to get that horrible taste out of my mouth. So I'm circumspect about trying castor whiskey.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Do you feel better now that you found out that instead of eating some castor-tasting meat you actually ate something called a "puss-pocket"?

MMMM-MMMM-MMMMMMMMMM!!!!!

It just about turned my mouth inside out. It was castor juice that had slopped onto some of the meat. Puss pockets taste different than that...kind of like,,,,nah, I won't go there.

If I ever do I will send you the first batch for tasting. I would think I would send a clothes pin as well for your nose. Would I ever get the smell out of that still after that??
