My Brother-in-law has 80 first cousins. Both sides are Catholic. They had a get-together for an Aunts funeral today.

I have 5 first cousins on my Dad's side and 6 on my Mom's side for a total of 11. My Dad had 48 first cousins. My Mom had 46 first cousins.

The birth rate for middle to upper class Americans is below the replacement rate. Poor Americans have a huge birth rate still. In Ohio, we have much more population growth from immigration than births. Most births in Ohio are from poor immigrants.

Not a single one

I think 55, most on my Dad’s side. Never met most of them. I’m the oldest.

We tried to count once and it was well over 100. My mom had 5 sisters and a brother, dad had 2 brothers and 10 sisters. Mom was the oldest and dad was the youngest. I know all of my cousins on my moms side and very few on dads, he had 1 sister he had never met and a couple others that he had only met a couple of times. There was such a range in ages on dads side he had great nieces and nephews that were older than he was.

I have no idea how many first cousins I have lol.

Now if you start counting once removed or second, third, etc I got a whole county in south Alabama. LOL

Heck, I'm my own fourth cousin as my paternal great grandmother's were first cousins. Grandparents were second cousins, dad his own third cousin, second cousin once removed to his parents and I'm my own fourth and third once removed to dad.

Once asked the curator of the county museum, my grandmother's first cousin my twice removed first, about just how a certain individual was related. She gave me a puzzled look and asked if I knew of "Honest John" Calhoun. I replied of course, he was the John Calhoun who was alive before the war (the War Between the States). She replied well he had sixteen kids and that's how everyone in the county is related. I don't think even she could keep it all straight, lol.
