My wife traded in her 2014 Nissan Murano on a 2020 Murano. I think she got a pretty good deal. However, the 2020 has 40,000 miles on it and the tires are the original tires. The tires on my wife's old car only have about 5,000 miles on them. So, I told them they would have to switch the tires from her car to the new car. When the technician moved her new car into the building, He did some damage to the new car. Sounds like he sideswiped another car. What would you do? The dealer said they would fix the damage. My wife really likes the new car and is bummed that it has to go into the body shop now.

Let them fix it. BUT STILL lower price. I had someone knock my mirror off my truck at 3,000 and it got turned in to his ins. When I traded it showed up on car fax. They low balled me on trade in (well tried)

They tried to say it wouldn't show up on Car Fax. It will take a new hood and fender. I'm guessing $2-3,000 damage at least.

Wait for another deal...plus those clowns should have had new tires on it already.

Most tires are toast at 40k

This can't be a dealership.......?

If the claim is pushed through an insurance company...then Car Fax will get their booger hooks on it.

New trucks and maybe cars are becoming unaffordable the Tacomas took a huge hike in price and they look to come in 4 cylinders on the TDR model I looked for. Think I’ll keep what I have well taken cared for.

I would walk away from that deal, and run away from the dealership. Carfax helps buyers by informing them when a vehicle has been damaged. To me, the offer by the dealership to keep Carfax from knowing shows their ethics are questionable at best.

I think I would go through with the deal if they properly fixed it and took a reasonable amount off the price.

Accept the deal, we all make mistakes and they are trying to make it right, we don’t need to gain advantage on a mistake

They sent a copy of the estimate to fix the 2020 Nissan Murano. I was off a bit at $3,000. The front end damage was $10,200.

The dealership had another 2020 Murano with the same mileage. it's black and she's not crazy about black. They offered her the same deal as before on this black one and reduced the price $750. I felt the offer was very fair. So, she told the deal. Now, she's happy and so am I. I have to live with her.

Insurance companies (MN) have zero obligation to supply
Carfax with anything . So the dealer is 100 correct !

2poor, the insurance companies do not report it to Car Fax. When that VIN shows up on an Insurance report car Fax will get that report when they run it. Same as with Oil Changes and other Maintenance.

Again , the Insurance Company is under no obligation. The dealer is under no obligation to supply information to a Private Company
. Now some dealers may savor being a snitch ! And Jiffy Lube may actually sell that information trying to make a Buck.
