Was anyone from ATA invited to, or did anyone attend, the Arctic Beaver Observation Network meeting this past Monday, Feb.26? It was at UAF.
If you;re not up to speed, Beaver are expanding into NW Alaska streams where they haven't existed before. Permafrost is melting, carbon is being released and we are all going to die!
Google will likely find you some info.

Pretty impressive changes beavers have made to the landscape in that area of Alaska. I was reading about it a couple months ago and saw some of the satellite images from before and after beavers moved in out there.

Permafrost is melting like crazy over here. Water chemistry is changing a lot. Fish are changing their movement because of that. I doubt we'll all die but big changes are happening thats for sure. There was a few people from the region in attendance. we have a lot of dried out fishing creeks over here.
