I went to show a tanned ringtail hide to a friend. I tanned it myself about 5-6yrs ago.
I haven't looked at for a couple yrs. It;s all dried out, curling up around the edges and stiff.
All the other of my tanned hides are fine. Do I hydrate it or oil it down?
The ringtail is tanned open, not cased. - Ol' Smoke

i doubt theres much you can do now. You could try rehydrating it in a salt bath, bagging it, putting it in the fridge over night. Working oil back into the leather and working the hide might soften it up...or completely ruining it. Might be better off just letting it go as is. Maybe gluing a felt backer might help keep the hide together.
