I have been working in an area out in the middle of nowhere and decided to bring a different rifle every day just to shoot it.
Like a lot of people, I have too many guns (not in my opinion, but anyway), but nowhere to shoot them as much as I would like.
So far I have taken my 30 cal M-1 Carbine, pre-ban Colt AR in 5.56, and a Bushmaster AR-15 with a Eotech Holo sight.
I still have a Colt AR in 7.62X39, 1903 Springfield, early Ruger 44 magnum carbine, later Ruger 44 magnum carbine, Browning 22 hornet, highly modified Remington 870 slug gun, Marlin semi-auto 22 mag, and a whole slough of handguns to shoot. I am having the time of my life.

sounds like you need get a range to shoot at more often
be on the look out for a place or club.

I have had a couple years often shortly after moving where I had to drive a good distance to shoot , I hated it and found a range as soon as I could to join.

for a while I belonged to 2

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

I walk down to the barn. I can shoot out to 300 yards across the pasture. Glad I live in the country.

I don't trust the folks who show up at the pay ranges around here.

I shot my 22 mag today. At 100 yards. I held on the center of the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket. Barely hit the very edge of the bucket. One inch group. I moved up to 30 yards and shot a tight group in the center of the bucket.
Well that ain't right. There wasn't a breath of wind out.
I shot again at 100 yards and had the same group on the edge of the bucket.
I'm thinking that the scope which I threw on there 10 years ago is not mounted in line with the barrel. I'll check to see if the windage knob is cranked all the to one side to make the bullet hit bullseye at 30 yards, bit 6 inches left at 100 yards.

I wanted to get back to my 22 magnum issue. The scope was acting like it was whopperjawed. 6 inches left at 100 yards and dead on at 50 yards.
I removed the hand-me-down scope which came from from another rifle which I hastily threw on there hoping it would be fine.
I took off the top halves of the rings and carefully placed the scope on the rings. It felt wrong as I eased it into place.
I broke out my scope ring lapper and started a lap job on the rings to look for contact marks. What a mess. Hardly any contact on the rings. I did a careful lap job on it, taking it apart several times to check the progress until I had full contact markings.
I cleaned it up, mounted the scope and shot it at 50 yards and at 100 yards.
I had to adjust the the scope 4 inches lower and 5 inches to the right to dial it in. That's a lot. The lap job did the trick though. Sub MOA at 50 and 100 in the bullseye.
I'll be taking my 44 magnum carbine out tomorrow.
I am having too much fun. I just felt bad for all of my rifles, lonely, in the dark inside the safe, wondering why I haven't taken them out to play for all of this time.
