So pretty sure there's something archived on this but thought I'd just start here. So I'm wanting to have a beaver blanket made. How many beavers (I know size matters) should I get. Do I just have them tanned
as I go along until I get enough? And where's the best place for tanning? Also a place to look into for making the blanket. I am not sure if I'm wanting a throw or a queen size yet?

There is a post from Black Dogs from a day or two ago. He had a beautiful blanket made. Take a look. Sorry, I don't know how to make links.

I would suggest you decide what type of blanket you want. Uniform color or patch work quilt? Trimmed with another fur or not trimmed?

Google “beaver blankets”. Study the pictures. Come up with a style you like. Then think about tanning and sewing.

BTW - your timing on making a beaver blanket sucks. Prices are high and going up. Should have had it made several years ago when beaver prices were in the toilet. LOL

Well been pouring my money in my cabin build the last 3-4 years so my timing was perfect for that before materials got way out of hand. I am planning on sending my own furs but I'm sure its not gonna be cheap.
