Nice trap. Usually you cannot read the pans on them. Good value there.

That design is interesting. Every bit of it is made of stamped steel. They weigh next to nothing.

I had the first model Trailsend. I sold that trap, along with the whole series, back in 2010. The 1st Model Nelson Boode Thingstad were manufactured with a 3 pan, and are the same size as the #9. Most often refered to as the #9 with the 3 Pan. This the rarest and hardest to find in the Trailsend series. Trap has pinned posts, and serrated jaws.

From what I understand the production at the Windsor Ontario plant was very short lived, with the Canadian versions being highly sought after. A very good friend of mine in Alberta Canada has the complete set of Windsor ONT. Boode's other than the #9 (largest produced). I have not seen a #9 Windsor Boode and have been told be several that that trap was not produced at the Windsor ONT. Plant. At the Pontiac Mich plant, all sizes were made with several different versions of the larger #9 being produced. I have see the Pontiac plants American made #9 Boode in the 1st model with the 3 pan, then later with a slick pan #9 size and a stamped pan #9 size. They are a very neat and unusual trap and when the whole series is displayed from smallest to largest it makes for a very impressive display

First offered in 1920 at a price of $5 each and manufactured at 298 Central Ave East, Pontiac Michigan under the names of Nelson, Boode & Thingstad Company. Within a short time, the name was changed to Nelson-Boode Trap Company. At least for a period of time, a branch was operated out of Windsor, Ontario.
The two principal people involved were Nels S. Nelson and Axel Boode, Canadian citizens who held four or more patents under which the traps were manufactured. The firm remained in business until the mid 1920s, but was formally disolved on May 2nd 1927. (Context of above taken from Gerstell's Book, The Steel Trap In North America, page 257)

I could not get a complete picture of the large pan without taking it in two sections. The pan reads:
____________________________________________________
Nelson Bodde Thingstad Trap Co. Nelson Boode Trap

Pontiac Mich. USA Pat April 13 1920 Other Patents Pending
