(It freezes in the winter) Fathead minnows begin spawning at 64F, so I would put them in as your water is getting in the upper fifties. Females spawn 16 to 26 times per season. They lay 6,800 to 10,600 eggs each per season. It takes about 4 months to become sexually mature. A very few breeders will fill a 50' by 50' pond by the end of the Summer. The more breeders you put in, the quicker the population will grow. A half gallon of stocked fathead minnows would very quickly give you a heavily harvestable population. Keith
