Last I knew the wagon wheel at the truck stop has really good food, and be very careful getting onto 218 that interchange really sucks, I think it claims a life or two a year.

Floyd County Fossil and Prairie Center near Rockford....short distance from Floyd. This is an old quarry that allows you to wander around and search for fossils. We bring the kids there often and they fill buckets of fossils.

What's wrong with visiting coonman? Dave is a nice guy with 40 years trapping experience.

Opens the last Saturday in October.

Not sure when the season starts but maybe able to hunt some pheasants

And beans! And we have more hogs than people.

You could see how many empty wobble pop cans you can stack on top of each other

Two friends of mind plus myself and our hard working English setter pheasant hunted near Bedford Iowa during the late 1990's I am sure things have changed a lot since than There where lots of birds to hunt and very little hunting pressure IT was like a dream come true to hunt those for 3 days

With regards to pheasants we’ve had good winter for survival so the numbers should be good.

There's Cedar Rock State Park just east of Waterloo which has a Frank Loyd Wright building on it. That would be about an hour from Floyd.

There is a big hill ( at least it seemed big as a kid) eastside into town, that was fun on a skateboard as a kid.
