My daughter uses the beam and a necker. I skin, she scrapes and I put them on stretchers. We do a hundred or so pretty quick. The boys help me too. She seems to enjoy helping the old man. I know I enjoy having her. Going to be tough when she's gone. I have some modified wire stretchers similar to nimzy's, but with wood. They work great to stop the skirts from shrinking up. I should switch them all over, but I've been too lazy.

Great to have the kids help you on the line and in the fur shed.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

You sir, are a lucky man. My daughter too loves to help the ol’ man. Enjoy every minute of it!

I use a small metal trowl. It is 5 inches long, 2 inches wide and the there is 1.5 inches between the blade and handle. I set on a 5 gal. bucket with a 6 foot beam mounted so that it is about waist high sitting and push with the trowl. Works great. My other two small fleshing tools for rats have not been used for 5 -6 years.

I use wood, but find Nimzy has put together some stretchers that work well for him. To me the value of pinning the pelt is the most important thing rather that is wood o r modified wire with a pinnable base. You want all the square inches of hide you can get either back or belly.
