I used to catch some jet black nutrias but never a single rat like that.

What a day!...100 miles over to the southern Oregon coast to trap some tidewater. When I got about 10 miles upstream from the boat ramp by outboard started acting up. Turned out it overheated with a partially plugged waterline exit plug. It his peeing pretty weak so I likely have a damaged impeller. I peeled a splinter to help ream it out and got going again. By the time I got back to the boat ramp it was extreme low tide and the ramp so badly mudded up I couldn't back the trailer all the way down to load my boat. Broke one of the 2X4 skids trying so had to leave my boat tied to the dock and bring the trailer back home to fix. Am hoping nobody messes with my stuff as I left motor, traps, gas tank etc in the boat. Pretty remote boat ramp so I'm hoping for the best.

NF, looks like Wyatt Earp is well on his way with a mentor like you. I bet you filled the final piece of the puzzle passing it on. That's terrific for both of you.
BP, what a bummer. I hope all your equipment is safe over the night. If there any good news at least an impeller is easy and quick to change.

BP, hope all went well with your wife’s Dr. appointment. Good luck with your boat, hope nobody messed with your stuff.
Dale, I like having that kid around he listens when I’m showing him something, he has caught 20 beaver so far, and is going to school, he’s looking for a part time job. He’s a good kid.
