Outstanding work as always I'd love to be the proverbial fly in the corner to watch and listen to the bidding on it !

I just tried to get the ivory trap with a friend of mine biding for me at the Fling because I had to work and am in sterling. And it just went for $9,750!! I quit at $8,000 lol

I must say that I am quite pleased but somewhat flabbergasted at that price! Very happy for the ATA!

Chuck... you outdid yourself this year.

And subsequently, a bunch of liquored-up trappers "out-bid" themselves!

Pretty amazing auction of your carving.

Pete

Which inebriated trapper ended up with it?

Beautiful piece! Do you sell other ivory items? You are a skilled artist.

I’ve made my living carving ivory and other materials since 1980.

That’s awesome. One of those carvings would look good on my wall. Be nice to see a thread with pictures of all the ivory traps you’ve done so far.

Amazing piece. The intricacy, as mentioned in the chain and swivel, the lettering on the pan, and that it is the ATA gold anniversary piece blows my mind.

Congratulations to the bidder that emptied their wallet on that one.

Of all the traps I’ve done, only two have had kinkless chains. Even this last one didn’t lay quite as flat as I would have liked. This was my first (hopefully last) raised letter pan!
