If only one spring goes off and a 330 nails you in the thumb joint, is that adequate enough for admission?

Removing some beavers for a local nature center that has gotten overrun with them. I took 5 in the fall, a 57 pounder this winter (was working too much to trap through the ice), and went 2 for 3 on the first check just today. Stupid me left my safety at the top of the bank when I removed the bigger one today. Feels good to be back out in the outdoors!

If it counts I had it happen twice on the last day of the season this year .

Maybe 165 club? I need to be more careful, have made the club twice this year Beslisles 330.

I took a single spring belisle 280 on a thumb once, Darn it all, I said.

Just getting a thumb out of Belisle should get a guy in the club I’d say.

That is one club I WILL NOT become a member of. Got some 280’s and don’t plan to use them enough to join that club either. I’ll stick with the land critters!

I think if it is just a finger you might get in, but when you get both hands in on top of each other then you should get special admission.

The Belisle 280 club is just a prestigious as the Belisle 330 club. I have both awards. I shudder when I recall those club awards.

My thumb looked like that with a Bridger #3. Not just once but twice in the same day. That trap got some extra work done with it.

It was a 280, not a 330. Pinched my right above the knuckle. Of course my setters were in the truck, safety was in my pocket. Cable and stake were under 2 feet of snow and frozen in. Ended up sliding the thumb over to the compressed spring side and pulling it out. I immediately stuck my bare hand in the ice covered creek until i couldn't feel it. Sure smarted for a few days.

HA! Thanks. You nailed it. I’ve had the meaty edge of both hands in that spot before! Back when I would set them by hand one slipped off my knee because I had mud on my waders. That sucked!!! Had a couple close thumb snaps like yours too. Only safe place I’ve found to hold one is underneath by the chain but sooner or later ya gotta go topside

Keep repeating until you can do it correctly. A wrist catch is an automatic entry requiring no application or approval.

If ya run a light pan tension on a beaver foothold or an unseated 280/330 dog you'll get a free membership sooner or later.
