NF, that's a great picture! Get some rest tonight you've earned it. Looks like you're going to have some fun time in the shop putting up fur.
BP, that's a lot of beaver to peel. Your a machine!

Turtle.... I'm a machine that has seen better days...a lot of rust in the working parts!
Put up 12 and skinned 12 yesterday was all I could muster. Day time temps hit mid 70's so I'm sweating it a little (about getting things done). One off my mud balls stretched 77" Had to put it on one of my only boards that is wider than 32". Put four beavers in my walk-in freezer but will need to take them out today so they defrost in time. One of them will be for a beaver skinning demo at the OTC sale this coming Saturday I was asked to do. That one I'll take out probably Tuesday.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Got one this morning with a 5 inch gash on its belly. Wasn't the trigger or dog. Not sure what got it, but it got it good. At least it's in a spot that I can work with.

NF, looks like that tree is already cured for the wood stove. Turtle, who know what kind of mischief beavers get into. That's a weird gash.
Otter, 62 (and 7) is a darn respectable take for Michigan. Congrats!

Swamp, I have a sawmill and plenty of white pine on the farm oh and I’m a carpenter, you’d think I could get the siding on the shop. Lol
Ottertrapper, we catch one otter for about ten beaver. Looks like about same ratio for you guys.

Otter, 62 (and 7) is a darn respectable take for Michigan. Congrats! Thanks BP. There are many parts of MI with plentiful beaver but my area is not one of them. Not many big rivers within 15 miles but next year we are gonna make plan do some scouting ahead of time and shoot for a 100 and our 8 otter limit. In our area limit is 3 each but we are close to the UP where we can each tag one more. My son still has one to go for this year. UP has a lot of beaver lower peninsula where we are is ok but lots of private ground. We sure had fun and plan to again early April but only a few wkds to set and then ship all to FHA on the 20th

I was surprised to see these two this morning, the one closest to me was caught in ts85 at a castor mound set lured with sac oil, the other one was caught in a 330 coming out of the bank den.

NF, I'm glad you avoided major damage. Remember when we used to tell the kids things and they didn't listen lol. Sounds like you guys are on top of the put up. My wife always laughs at me when I tell her I'm sore from my outdoor pursuits. She calls me "poor baby" but does accommodate me with a back rub! Got to love them women that love us for what we are.
Bowhunterks, couple nice beaver there. I like using just sac oil sometimes too. Are those gloves you have on the one they sell at Harbor freight? I was looking at some yesterday. And nice beard!
Ottertrapper, nice haul for you and the young man. Glad to hear he is also enjoying the trapping lifestyle

Well I'm sitting at the surgery center waiting for Dad to get out. He's 85 and a tough old coot. He's had carpal tunnel on both wrists and a reverse shoulder surgery all in the last few months. Now a problem with his insides. He's crankier than an otter in a foothold. At his age he still works 40 hours a week out side in the winter and averages 60 hours a week in the summer. He has his own lawn care business/snow removal etc... and he is the only worker. When he can't work he gets down right mean! God love him. My other half is with my mom so she doesn't think we disappeared. Here's my view right now Ran my 4 traps in the dark and picked up three. Dad says DONT quit trapping just to take care of us. I told him we'll see how it goes. Picked up three to go with one from yesterday

Turtle, those are some crazy pretty beaver!
Bow, I used to get harbor freight gloves like those but when they went to the one-size fits all (no XL) they no longer work for me. I always wear those cheap cotton glove liners inside to keep sweat down.

ETex, That looks like a copperhead. Is that what it is? Down here we have some copperheads that live in/near water.
