I set up 3 lodges and caught the 3 big females the 1st night. Nothing the last 4 days. How long before the rest of the families come out? No lure just fresh poplar.

Also, will the 2 year-olds disperse without momma chasing them away?

Thats a dandy and pretty unusual to catch the big female first. She is usually the hardest one to catch.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Taking the alpha female will often lock down the rest of the colony for a good while. The two year olds (one female
anyway) may stick around if they haven't dispursed already

I’ve noticed after a few bigger ones are taken, they sometimes hole up. Then, a week later get another 3 or 4……in fall anyway.
77lbs….
