OT, no limit here, this makes five from the same trap, and four or five beaver. Good spot. Nice!! Wish we had that here could probably catch 50 if a guy wanted too but gotta really be careful beaver trapping because of it.

Nice looking day's catch Cat. It amazes me sometimes how little of a hind foot it takes to hold a beaver long enough sometimes. Congrats.

Been slow for the last week on the river. I took all my river sets out yesterday and will wait for a couple weeks and go at it again. I am up to 18 now with only 2 being last years models. Only have 3 that went over 50#.
Had 3 landowners in the past couple weeks call and want me to take care of their beaver issues. I will set them when it starts warming up next week. Hoping for 50 this year which is 3 over my best year 3 years ago. Last year ice went out so late I didn't trap the river. Good luck guys!

Sometimes things just don't go the way you plan.... Had a beaver in a #4 dls on a drowner rod. Pulled it up and went to take the trap off it's front foot and BAM!! This half drowned Stetson with webbed back feet chows down on my thumb. Not to bad but bled a lot. I let out a steady stream of expletives that would have shamed the devil himself. Well I give it a love tap with the setters and stood on it for what seemed like 20 minutes. Here's the thumb And here's the culprit

That’s crazy! I don’t remember any even threatening violence. Those eastern beaver are meaner than the western ones are I guess.

Those are two dandy grey torpedos NF.
BTW, the older part of that pile can already knock buzzards off the you-know-what wagon. Started the day with 34 to put up, after that hope to get that pile taken care of tomorrow or Friday. Of course it had to hit mid 70's for the last 4 days!

Nice otter NF. Mine beat the average by a fair amount in Idaho but BP takes the title this year with his 2 100$ ones.
BP that’s gotta smell god awful. But I don’t see a lot of green up front anyway lol.

Dale, A few years ago a friend of mine was checking traps in the dark before work. He pulled up a drowned beaver and said he thought to himself, this must be a fresh catch, it's still warm. He got a couple miles down the road and looked in the rearview mirror and that beaver was standing up in the bed of the truck, looking through the back window at him. He pulled off the road, and didnt have a gun with him because the mill he worked at had a no firearm policy even in their parking lot (besides not wanting to shoot a hole in the back of his truck). So he climbed in the bed with it, grabbed an axe, and finally managed to knock it in the head.
Said somebody drove by while he was chasing a beaver around in the bed of his truck with an ax, he figured they were probably thinking, "what the heck?!!"
