Of course y'all realize that's one of them prize Oregon nutrias with tail skinned out. Got $13 apiece in Idaho for them. Nutrias even when prime have dark leather.

Put this one up tonight.
Had to beam it,not cold enough to frostscrape-why it looks a bit rough.

Looks good. Nice clear leather. Are you going to tan it?

Havent decided on that one yet BP.
Last recieving date for the june auction is may 20 so I will see what Otters of the same grade sell for in the upcoming sale then decide.
I got about a dozen otters put up.Some I will definitely tan (small ones),some might go to the auction.
Prices for decent otter has been climbing up last few sales like some other species.

Well, been off this think for a week during our little Beaverpalooza trapping adventure. Had 3 Tman members together here in PA doing some beaverin’…. The Hammer, Longbeard12 and I trapped 2 checks together and then Longbeard12 and I did 5 more days just the two of us since Hammer had to be responsible and work. Pretty good numbers considering all we had to deal with. We had scouted some places on private land and had some permission to be there, but apparently others trespassed as you could see obvious set locations from this season. Other obstacles we dealt with was PA’s trap limit law (only 20 traps per person) and harsh weather for 3 of the days. All in all it was a fantastic week and I’m already looking forward to next season. 7 checks scored us 38 beaver. [Linked Image]

Cc, looks like you guys had some great outings together. I watched a couple videos on YouTube

NF, those are gorgeous clean pelts. Last ten beaver I put up have been all bit up. Some terrible bad.

We've been locked up with unwalkable ice and zero trapping conditions for four or five days now. Supposed to have a thaw and rain coming. We'll be flooding then with the snow melt off and rain.

YJ, good luck at the sale. I like seeing those badgers. Wish we had them instead of woodchuck. Wood chucks can be sold but don't pay too well. But then again how would I know how long spring would last. Groundhog Day would have to become badger day
