Maybe so the trapper could see that he did it. And, I saw him pay a little more for the put-up, but it wasn't much more. GFW has said more than once to spend your time trapping beaver...not putting up beaver. They have efficient fleshing machine for hatter pelts. Your heavy northerns are not the beavers he is referring to. If I lived/trapped beavs way up north I'd scrape em and nail em too. Last edited by Swamp Wolf; 03/26/24 05:02 PM. I have watched Gary measure put-up beaver in all his live videos & in person when he buys put-up northern New York beaver & he always measures from leg hole to leg hole diagonally across the pelt from the front leg hole down to the rear leg hole on the opposite side.
