When a trapper makes an effort to make a last receiving date , i believe there is what is termed as an “ implied contract.“

It sounds to me like anything with spots is selling right now. Not sure how good the southern association sales have been for bobcats this season but I'll be it's less than the $73 FHA average.

I had one bobcat left over from last year, sold it this auction for $350.00. Will take that for a Kansas cat any day of the week and twice on Sunday. It graded 2X select LT Silver B

$65 straight nose count with my buyer. In the round. No commission.

I didn't send any up yet this year, I think next week or so is pick up date for me. So my average was $350 for my cats this auction. LOL

I'd go with that $65 nose count too.

BP, you can catch some pretty cats in Arkansas and can do well on the taxidermy market. Back when cats were a hot item at NAFA a few years back, averaged over $100. I would ship some to FH but no of no agent nearby.

For fha not to offer any pelts that are received before the last receiving date for said auction would be a breach of contract, according to the agreement made between shipper and fha. Too bad all the lawyers got run off tman.

Seems they are acting as a broker sometimes more than an auction house. Not that it is all bad but it can get u in trouble too playing both

Number six on condition of sale.......once they get sent in, they can do whatever they want.

6. FHA will sell your pelts at its discretion. As always, FHA will continue to protect your interest and obtain the best possible price.

Read number 11. Unsold pelts to be reoffered on subsequent sales. Offering is not selling. There is an implied contract that fur that makes a lrd will be offered at the auction that applies to the lrd.

Sask not knocking FHA as I'm glad we have them and appreciate all the effort they put into the fur industry but unless they have a crystal ball they ain't always going to make the right decision that will obtain the best possible price for you every time. Though I think they do try to and make the right decision more times than not and do it more times right than the average trapper would.

My limited experience with Ks cats in a good market is they aren't usually the highest in Canada.
