FHA has sold dumped more of my rats private treaty. Have now sold 154 rats out of 233 with 79 yet unsold for an underwhelming $2.62 average before commission & fees. So much for no more PT sales after the last hammer drop !!! We knew that assertion was going to be a fairy tale !!! Should have sold to Groeny at the Rat Wagon !!! w

What I find irritating is that Mark Downey was auctioneer for the muskrat and he barely spoke of most of the lots, mumbled & fumbled around with the bid sheets, and left most everyone scratching their heads & wondering what the heck was going on & what happened ? Now we're supposed to believe that the shy buyers got religion later on and decided to buy after the fact ? I don't know what it was they did with the muskrat but it sure wasn't an auction !!!! w

That was confusing! Had $4 written down on my sheet with a question mark. I got only one nicer one left. And Castors down from last year.

So what should FHA do. A buyer buys say 40k rats for example at a certain level. There are 260K left and nobody wanted them. So the buyer says I will buy 60k more at the level I bought 40k. Should they hold them to the next sale or sell them? I mean there are still 200K rats unsold. If you want them step up to the plate and go buy them.

You guys are jumping to conclusions without any evidence.
FH operates with limited staff, unlike NAFA which had employees for each job. At FH, the same people that grade and lot the fur sell it as auctioneers. They also double as bus drivers to shuttle the buyers back and forth to Toronto. After 3 full days of auctioning, they are exhausted.
Just because the rats sold up as sold on your account, doesn’t mean they sold today.
I asked about some unsold ranch fox early Sunday morning, while the auction was still happening. They didn’t show in my buyer account until Tuesday morning. That was a legit sale
Give FH employees a break!! End of story!!! The sale was legit but they did sell the rats PT after the auction, which I have no problem with, except they said absolutely no PT sales. I watched the auction for the rats and the ones that sold on the floor where marked in my account same time as the rest. These lots did not sell, during the auction. They where lotted, catalogued and went no sale during the auction. Once the fur is sent to auction totally out of our control, they are fairly upfront about that, its in the conditions of sale and they remind us every year by doing stuff like this. Last point, this is a better outcome for muskrats then I was expecting. Was fully expecting a firesale, at $.50-$1.50 prices.

Appears as I shed the bottom 30%. Of this stale collection Local chatter claiming $2.50- 2.80 all in average at the truck. These skewed numbers may have created opportunities.

Shakey, how do you know FHA castor is down from last year? You got intel I don't? Last year I got 7.28 oz and this year 4.05 oz for the good stuff. Should be in your lots…….if I’m reading it right. So I got $65 a lb this time.
